Catch a Ride Network Launches to Ensure Communities Reach Healthcare, Work, and Essentials

A first-of-its-kind national network helps nonprofits, clinics, and social service agencies connect their clients with reliable rides — reducing transportation insecurity for millions of Americans.

Detroit, Michigan – October 20, 2025 – Feonix – Mobility Rising announced today the launch of the Catch a Ride Network at the Intelligent Transportation Society of Michigan, ITS Michigan, annual meeting in Detroit.

The development of the Catch a Ride Network was supported through the philanthropic support of Ford Philanthropy and through ongoing skills-based volunteer support by Ford Motor Company’s Global Brand Team, providing marketing expertise to position the platform for adoption across a wide number of geographies and audience types.

This nationwide initiative is designed to reduce transportation barriers and strengthen community health and resilience.  Transportation barriers are the inability to regularly reach essential destinations safely and impact nearly one in five adults in the U.S., a prevalence on par with food insecurity and strongly associated with poor health outcomes (University of Michigan, 2025).

The Catch a Ride Network directly addresses this urgent challenge by equipping nonprofits, social service agencies, and healthcare providers with access to a dedicated call center and innovative mobility technology platform.

The platform seamlessly integrates with public transit, rideshare, taxis, and volunteer drivers, enabling organizations of every size to connect their clients to existing transportation options quickly, reliably, and at scale.

“When transportation is limited, people already facing barriers to healthcare, food, and employment are impacted most severely,” said Valerie Lefler, Founder and Executive Director of Feonix – Mobility Rising. “The Catch a Ride Network is about urgency and innovation: ensuring nonprofits, clinics, and social service agencies have the tools today to help their clients and patients reach the places that sustain health, dignity, and opportunity.”

The Catch a Ride platform is powered by SkedGo’s award-winning mobility technology, which operates across hundreds of cities worldwide with more than 4,000 integrated transportation providers and 2 million downloads. This proven technology ensures the system’s scalability and adaptability to diverse community needs.

“As a Mobility company committed to building a better world where every person is free to move, Ford and Ford Philanthropy are proud to support the Catch a Ride Network. We believe this organization and its technology are uniquely positioned to make a transformative impact on communities nationwide through expanded transportation access,” said Alex Buznego, senior manager of mobility programs at Ford Philanthropy. “We are proud that our support expands beyond grant dollars, as we’ve engaged Ford Volunteer Corps employee volunteers to contribute their expertise, including in brand strategy, to this important initiative.”

By combining Feonix’s deep community partnerships, SkedGo’s global platform, and Ford’s commitment to innovation and social impact, Catch a Ride represents a powerful new model for addressing mobility barriers in America.

John Gass, Global Brand Strategist at Ford Motor Company said, “It's fulfilling to apply our skills in support of an organization doing such vital work in communities, helping them effectively communicate their mission and amplify their positive impact. We're inspired by their passion and unwavering commitment to serving those who need it most."
